Tell us about yourself?

I am passionate about helping people conquer the information overload and feel accomplished and happy at work and beyond, and always looking for like-minded people and organizations who want to help their stakeholders do the same.

How did you become a productivity evangelist?

Pierre Khawand, Productivity Evangelist

I started as a technology entrepreneur a while back, completed several successful ventures, and then founded People-OnTheGo a decade or so ago.

When I was focused on technology products and services, I saw firsthand how technology can be a doubled-edged sword.

On one hand, it can help us be efficient, but on the other hand, it can be overwhelming and create lots of distractions and stress.

I decided to take on the challenges that technology brings and help people be more productive and overcome the “everything” overload.

What’s one thing that prevents people from being more productive?

One important barrier to productivity is the constant interruptions, both the external interruptions that are caused by others and the environment we work in, but also our own wandering and scattered minds, partly caused by our own habits and poor or lack of attention management.

How do you apply productivity principles in your own life?

I apply productivity principles in many ways, some being at the strategic level, being selective in choosing to invest my time in the areas that have a great potential impact, and at the tactical/operational level in making sure my workflow is optimized and my tools and techniques are working smoothly, but equally importantly, by having mindfulness practices to help me manage my attention and reduce stress throughout the workday and beyond.

Tell us about your upcoming presentation?

I am looking forward to this presentation and to sharing with you and the meet-up community some of our core productivity principles.

I’ll detail a framework that shows how results change with time when working on a task and how managing our focused and collaborative time skillfully and with intention can be the foundation for an accomplished and less stressful work life.

The presentation also addresses some of the key challenges that marketing professionals encounter including the never-ending long list of competing priorities, email overload, and constant interruptions, providing practical methods for managing these with confidence and ease.

And like most of my presentations and workshops, we will not go away without sprinkling some mindfulness practices, providing some insights into the impact that these practices can have on our attention management and sense of fulfillment and happiness in the workplace.

Join Us on November 7
